Paul is a supreme example of the perseverance of the saints. The apostle'sfaithful perseverance through the most difficult circumstances life throws at him is in stark contrast to our day of easy believism and lackadasical Christian living in which a simple prayer of repentance is all that many professing believers think constitutes salvation--apart from any perseverance in the faith throughout life.
